Bahrain Polytechnic requires applicants to meet the criteria stated below.  See How to Apply for additional requirements.

Bahraini Government School

Requirements:

  • Secondary School certificates and Thanawiya showing successful completion of (at least) 3 years of secondary education.
      • Bring the original and submit a copy of the Graduation Certificate.
      • Bring the original and submit a copy of the Semester 1-6 certificates.
  • Evidence of a 70% cumulative GPA or more over the final 3 years of secondary school. 
  • Evidence of Good Conduct (not more than one year old). 
      • Fresh graduate: Submit a letter from your school. 
      • Employed:  Submit a letter from your employer. 
      • Unemployed: Submit a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Ministry of Interior, Criminal Investigation Department.

Bahraini Private School

Requirements:

  • Secondary/High school certificates recognised by the Ministry of Education Private Learning Directorate as equivalent to Bahraini Government Secondary Certificate (Thanawiya).
      • Bring the original and submit a copy of the Graduation Certificate.
      • Bring the original and submit a copy of Semester 1-6 certificates.
      • Equivalence letter issued by the Ministry of Education, Private Education Directorate.
  • Evidence of a 70% cumulative GPA or more over the secondary school period.
  • Evidence of Good Conduct (not more than one year old).
      • Fresh graduate: Submit a letter from your school.
      • Employed:  Submit a letter from your employer.
      • Unemployed: Submit a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Ministry of the Interior, Criminal Investigation Department.

Examples of recognised Private School Certificates: 

  • British system schools:
      • 5 IGCSE subjects (including one English subject) with minimum C grade.
      • 4 AS or 2 A levels (or equivalent) with minimum C grade.
  • Pakistani system schools.
  • Indian system schools.
  • American system schools.
  • International Baccalaureate.
  • Schools using the Bahraini Government Certificate system.

Entry Requirements for graduates from abroad

Requirements:

  • Secondary/High school certificates recognised by the Ministry of Education Examination Directorate as equivalent to Bahraini Government Secondary Certificate (Thanawiya).
      • Bring the original and submit a copy of the Graduation Certificate
      • Bring the original and submit a copy of Semester 1-6 certificates.
      • Equivalence letter issued by the Ministry of Education, Examination Directorate.
  • Evidence of a 70% cumulative GPA or more over the secondary school period.
  • Evidence of Good Conduct (not more than one year old)
      • Fresh graduate: Submit a letter from your school
      • Employed:  Submit a letter from your employer.
      • Unemployed: Submit a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Ministry of the Interior, Criminal Investigation Department.

Transferring students

Students who have studied at or want to transfer from a recognized University must complete all the admission procedures. They can apply for credit recognition or APL (Assessment of Prior learning) only after being offered and accepting the offer of place (confirmation).

Part-time Students

 Bahrain Polytechnic does offer part-time study options. All programme requirements must be completed within twice the length of the Programme.
