Bahrain Polytechnic Celebrates Bahraini Women’s Day

Bahrain Polytechnic celebrated the national occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day on Sunday, 10th December 2017, which was dedicated to the women in the field of engineering.

In support of the Supreme Council for Women’s efforts to honor and empower women in engineering, Bahrain Polytechnic hosted a group of high school students from different schools in Bahrain to introduce them to the field of engineering in order to motivate them to engage in it due to its promising job opportunities.

Eng. Huda Abdulla Fakhro, Assistant Undersecretary for Roads at the Ministry of Works, delivered a speech during the occasion, where she spoke about the participation of female students in the field of engineering, the challenges she faced, and the achievements she accomplished. Additionally, she confirmed how the Polytechnic is successful in attracting the female students to study this promising field.

Dr. Christina Georgantopoulou, Bahrain Polytechnic’s Head of School: Engineering, praised the role of the Polytechnic and the Kingdom of Bahrain in motivating Bahraini women to participate in the engineering field. She pointed to the importance of integrating women in the engineering sector and its importance in the labor market.

At the end of the event, Bahraini engineers which consisted of staff and speakers were awarded on stage for their outstanding efforts and performance, as well as their role in the development of the Polytechnic.
