Bahrain Polytechnic has honored Bahrain International Circuit’s Commercial Director Sherif Al Mahdy on 2nd March 2014 with an award for playing an important role as a key industry partner of the Polytechnic.

The ceremony, which took place at the BIC, was to express gratitude for Mr. Al Mahdy’s contributions to the Polytechnic’s Business School, as his involvement towards the development of the business programme and curriculum was vital, notably for his insight to what industry needs from graduates with marketing degrees.

Practical work defines the type of teaching methodology Bahrain Polytechnic implements, according to Acting CEO Dr. Mohamed Al-Aseeri, as involving their industrial partners in the education process is pivotal in order to produce work-ready graduates.

Dr. Al-Aseeri stated: “We are working closely with industry to review our programmes to ensure we are producing graduates ready for the corporate world.

“Sherif Al Mahdy was part of an international panel of experts who visited the Polytechnic in order to help us ensure we develop our programme in a manner which is deemed to be tailored to what the job market needs.

“His outstanding contribution is not to go unnoticed, and we thank him for his valuable suggestions which we will highly consider.” stated the Acting CEO.

For his part, Sherif Al Mahdy said: “It was indeed a privilege to be part of this panel and I am delighted to have been able to make a contribution towards what is an important programme within the Polytechnic.

“We at the Bahrain International Circuit share the same vision with the Polytechnic that curriculums should be designed to equip our young minds with a practically relevant educational experience – this way the transfer of learning into the workplace environment is more rewarding for both the student and the employer.” Al Mahdy added.
