Bahrain Polytechnic is taking part in the upcoming annually held event, Meet ICT 2013, held at Bahrain Exhibition Centre from the 10th to the 12th of December 2013.

The event will feature a two-day conference which will include speakers and panelists who will discuss important issues affecting the Middle Eastern ICT industry.

Additionally, it will also feature three workshops that will cover advanced ICT topics conducted by experts in their respective fields.

Dr. Philippe Pringuet, Bahrain Polytechnic’s Dean of EDICT (Engineering, Design and ICT) said: “We will be hosting a stand at the exhibition for the three days, manned by staff and students from the Bachelor of ICT programme.

“Both staff and students will have the opportunity to meet with industry leaders from across the region and showcase the great work they are doing.” he continued.

Also in attendance will be staff and students of the ICT Innovation Lab; a lab which provides a supportive environment conducive to cutting edge innovation where students and staff can take ICT project ideas from inception to prototype stage.

Projects deemed having commercial potential will be then further developed in the separate Bahrain Polytechnic Entrepreneur Center.

“As always, we strive to mix theory with practicality.” added Dr. Pringuet. “Apart from just teaching them in classrooms, we want our students to develop an awareness of how they can transform what they learn in the classroom into practical, 21st century skills and apply them in the workplace.” concluded Dr. Pringuet.
