Bachelor of Engineering student Zainab Abdulrahman Ali represented Bahrain in the VEX Robotics World Championship in April 2015. She accompanied a team of 4 robotic developers who were shortlisted to compete and present their country in the USA at the Kentucky EXPO Centre. Participants used Mechanical Engineering Concepts and VEX EDR C++ Programming Language to build two robots that work autonomously for a maximum of 45 seconds and be controlled by their operators.
The General Organization for Youth and Sports sponsored the team and fully funded the travel, logistics and participation costs. The championship brings together top robotics teams who celebrate their accomplishments and compete against the best teams from around the world.
The 2015 VEX Robotics World Championship included top teams from many VEX U tournaments happening in cities around the world from June 2014 to March 2015. Teams played the game Skyrise during the 2014-2015 season.
