Graduates Earn Diploma in Office Management

Nine students were awarded with their Diploma in Office Management at the Bahrain Polytechnic campus on 26th June 2014; a programme designed to prepare students to become employees linked with the business and administration sectors while earning hands-on experience through a simulation of a business centre.

The ceremony, held under the patronage of Sheikh Hisham Bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, was delivered to showcase that the students possessed the highest level of employability skills that potential employers can notice in their curriculum vitas.

Students were required to simulate the life of the workplace and had to operate under workplace conditions under the supervision of their tutors, including signing in and out of their attendance, undertake performance appraisals and have a rotating role, from receptionists and assistants to financial managers and reprographic managers.

While the Bahrain 2030 Vision aims to enhance the way education is delivered in the Kingdom, this stepping stone will shed light to the fact that implementing practical learning into the curriculum is deemed to be beneficial, according to Acting CEO Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri.

“Our courses [at the Polytechnic] are all based on today’s industry standards. We have dedicated committees within the educational institution which ensures we keep meeting what companies expect from graduates.

“Having said that, this diploma will show employers that our students have gone through the life of an employee and performed various tasks from various departments.

“We will further develop our programmes on a regular basis to make sure we are in line with Bahrain’s 2030 Vision and the government work program 2011-2014.” concluded the Acting CEO, which awarded the students with the diplomas.
