The School of Accounting and Finance is proud to announce that Bahrain Polytechnic has officially been recognised as an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Partner in Learning, becoming the first higher education institution in the Kingdom of Bahrain to obtain this status and marking a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering globally recognised, industry-focused accounting and finance education.
This recognition reflects Bahrain Polytechnic’s dedication to academic excellence and its commitment to preparing graduates with the knowledge, professional skills, and ethical foundations required to succeed in the rapidly evolving global business environment. The achievement further supports the Polytechnic’s strategic focus on cultivating global citizenship, strengthening industry engagement, and enhancing graduate employability through internationally recognised qualifications and partnerships.
On this occasion, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, stated: “The “Bahrain Polytechnic’s recognition as a Learning Partner of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) represents a significant milestone that reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality education aligned with the highest international standards. This recognition also reaffirms our dedication to equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and professional experience that enable them to compete and succeed in a rapidly evolving global business environment.”
He added: “We are proud to be the first higher education institution in the Kingdom of Bahrain to receive this prestigious accreditation, which enhances the added value of our academic programmes and opens wider opportunities for our students to obtain globally recognised professional qualifications and build successful career pathways. This partnership comes as an extension of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the link between education and industry and labour market needs, in support of Bahrain’s vision to build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.”
Bahrain Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Business (Accounting) programme has established a strong reputation for preparing graduates for professional success. The programme currently provides students with five Credits for Prior Learning (CPL) exemptions towards the ICAEW ACA qualification, in addition to exemptions from selected examinations offered by leading global professional accounting bodies, including ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). The newly awarded ICAEW Partner in Learning status further strengthens these professional pathways and enhances opportunities for students pursuing internationally recognised qualifications.
As an ICAEW Partner in Learning, Bahrain Polytechnic will gain access to exclusive resources, professional development opportunities, and industry insights that will further enrich the student learning experience. The partnership also strengthens the Polytechnic’s connection with the global accounting profession, creating additional opportunities for collaboration, industry engagement, mentorship, and career development.
