Students Attend Voluntary Awareness Day in Bahrain Polytechnic

Bahrain Polytechnic hosted a voluntary awareness event at their campus on May 9th, where students and staff had the opportunity to meet with several local charity organizations for potential voluntary opportunities. The four hour session saw many students, staff and organizations engaging in conversations regarding various voluntary activities they can perform.

“Community engagement is one of the elements Bahrain Polytechnic is including in its strategic plan. We are continually working towards showing our active commitment in community service.” commented Dr. Rhea Fitzpatrick, Electives Team Manager.

“Not only will the Polytechnic establish networks with community organizations, but encourage and educate students and staff to actively engage in volunteer activities within these local organizations.”
Students who sign up to volunteer will earn a far greater reward than just receiving elective credits for their community service activities.
“The importance and value of community service will help the individual learn more about themselves, in addition to possessing valuable skills and helping the organization’s mission.” concluded Dr. Fitzpatrick.

Bahrain Polytechnic would like to show sincere appreciation to the community organizations who attended such as AIESEC, Bahrain Red Crescent Society, Bahrain Garden Club, Al-Rashad Autism Centre and many more. Their presence and cooperation is only another step to meet the government’s 2011-2014 plan and the Bahrain 2030 vision.
