Bahrain Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ThinkSmart at the campus, where students and staff can now make use of various general training programs, but solely related to ICT.
This makes it the Polytechnic’s first academy to collaborate with within the ICT sector, aiming to meet the needs of the Bahraini labor market.
ThinkSmart will be responsible for preparing, planning and organizing training programs and courses, where Bahrain Polytechnic will be providing appropriate training rooms fit for high quality learning.
In addition to providing ICT programs, ThinkSmart will also be offering short courses and Professional Certification from Microsoft, Oracle and Cisco. General training programs will also be delivered, such as leadership and project management.
Ahmed Alhujairi, Chairman of ThinkSmart stated: “The partnership agreement with Bahrain Polytechnic will benefit both sides, ICT industry and the economy as a whole.
“Our work over the past years to support and enhance companies working with the ICT sector in Bahrain; by getting involved in events such as Meet ICT, BITEX and participating in GITEX. Today, this contribution [with the Polytechnic] will certainly help achieve the Bahrain 2030 Vision.” stated the Chairman.
Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri, Acting CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, said: “This agreement will serve the students of the Polytechnic as well as meet the Polytechnic’s Strategic Plan 2015-2019; a plan which aims to meet the government action plan 2015-2018 and the Bahrain 2030 Vision. This agreement will also help students be prepared to engage in a real business environment related to ICT.”
