In September 2014, two Bahrain Polytechnic Marketing students were sent to conduct a marketing research for Hyundai First Motors as part of their curriculum to produce an industry project in their final semester.

After applying their marketing knowledge, Shaima Hubail and Batool Fateel have completed their project and presented it to Hyundai First Motors at the end of December 2014.

The research aimed to assess and understand the awareness level and perception of Hyundai luxury models (Genesis and Centennial) among public in Bahrain. This was backed up by internal information, supervisory support, and real challenging marketing projects provided by Hyundai First Motors to the students.

Students were graded individually based on their employability skills and their ability to deliver effective marketing solutions to the company throughout the semester.

Cormac MacMahon, Dean of Business School, commented on the partnership between both parties and stated: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and to prove to employers and industry that they are work-ready. First Motors have played a crucial role in these students development and provided an exciting first step on the road to success in their chosen careers.

“This is a mutually beneficial relationship as First Motors benefit from a fresh perspective as students apply the latest business theory and knowledge to solve some of their business problems.” he said.

Acting CEO of the Polytechnic Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri insisted that working with reputable partners such as Hyundai First Motors will set its graduates with a solid foundation to meet the needs of the Bahraini labour market.

“Our teaching method involves working closely with industry. First Motors have been very supportive with our students and we hope we can collaborate further in the future, as we strive to meet Bahrain’s 2030 Vision and the government work plan 2015-2018.”

Bahrain Polytechnic’s executive management thanked the support of First Motor’s marketing team members Mr. Al-Khuzaei and Ms. Marwa Al Haji. They also thanked the Polytechnic’s Programme Manager Talat Abdulla and tutor Saleh Shuqair which took initiative and supervised the entire partnership and project.
