Research Award
To support researchers, the Applied Research and Enterprise Committee (AREC) recognizes the need for appropriate time-allocation for leading researchers in the institution and nominates 4 annual awards for researchers.
CEO award for exceptional research
Elligibility criteria: Any staff submitting one published article as single/main author in Q1 journal in best 25% in their field (SJR ranking)
Awarding criteria: Originality/Relevance of the research, Significance/Impact of the research in Bahrain and/or internationally, Quality of the research
Research Integration in Learning and Teaching Award
Elligibility criteria: Any staff having presented at one conference in the field of education
Awarding criteria: Integration into the curricula, Excellence in design and innovation in course design, Student impact, Level/Impact of conference
Researcher of the Year award
Elligibility criteria: Counting all the contributions made by researcher (as per record in official Bahrain Polytechnic Research DB) for current year
Awarding criteria: Score based on number and quality indexed journal articles + Number of conference presentations + books/book chapter AND Level of journal / Conference / Book (indexed, Scopus, SGR)Ties to be separated using the sum of the H-index of the journals published in.
Early Career Researcher of the Year award
Same Elligibility criteria and Awarding criteria as Research of the year award but only available for staff who achieve their last qualification within last 5 years
