Bahrain Polytechnic Hosts The Annual Teaching & Learning Symposium

Bahrain Polytechnic hosts its 10th Annual Teaching and Learning Symposium on 4th and 5th Nov 2018 at the Isa Town campus, under the theme “Applied Research enhancing opportunities for innovation”.

The symposium consists of two days of talks, presentations, workshops centering on the significance of developing a research culture in higher education.

Dr. Jeff Zabudsky Acting CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic stated: “The Annual Teaching & Learning Symposium not only serves as a refresher, but as a way for academic staff to stay up to date with the latest trends in education”.

Ema Janahi, Director of Academic Development and Commercial & Community Initiative, stated: “The streams of the symposium included recent research trends in Higher Education in Bahrain or internationally, Significance of Applied research, Significance of developing a research culture in an educational institution, practical guidance in doing applied research and similar themes”.

She added: “This year, we have invited practitioners in higher education from local institutions and from UK to share their knowledge and expertise to the participants and give their perspective on the UK approach to applied research”.

Dr. Zabudsky gave his sincere thanks and appreciation to the lecturers and to the Teaching & Learning Unit for preparing this symposium for yet another year. He added that this annual symposium provides a wealth of knowledge to the staff who are teaching to enhance the student’s competencies to be work-ready graduate, equipped with the necessary 21st century skills.
