Ms. Leena Almannai, Manager of Commercial & Community Initatives, commented that Bahrain Polytechnic continues to play its part in the community by collaborating with private and public sectors as part of the Polytechnic’s Strategic Plan 2015-2019.

During the past 2 years, approximately 40 community events were hosted, and the Polytechnic is keen to build on improving this number on a monthly basis. These events were conducted to various schools [within the Polytechnic], consisting of 21% from the School of Business, 17% from the School of Humanities, and 13% from the School of Engineering, Design & ICT.

In regards to the entrepreneurship community events, which the Polytechnic conducts at Riyadat Centre in cooperation with the Schools of Business and Humanities, amounted to 11%. 38% of the remaining events were for other community initiatives and development management.

Ms. Almannai stated: “Our community service activities are in line with our Strategic Plan. We continue to collaborate with various institutions in order to conduct events that meet public interest, which in turn contribute to the success of our Kingdom.”

She continued: “The number of people benefiting from these [community] initiatives continues to increase; compared to previous years. Our students and staff volunteered to participate in preparing these events; especially the student council, which played a vital role in supporting these activities. The management supports many of our community events which meet the Polytechnic’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives which are in line with the Government action plan 2015-2018 and Bahrain 2030 Vision.”
