The Teaching & Learning Unit of Bahrain Polytechnic will be hosting its 8th Annual Teaching and Learning Symposium from 27th to 30th August 2017 at the Isa Town campus, under the theme “Supporting Quality in Teaching & Learning”.
The symposium will provide the attendees opportunities to learn from leading practitioners in the education sector and to engage in discussions related to up-to-date knowledge and practices in key areas in higher education and research.
Ema Janahi, Director of Academic Development and Commercial & Community Initiative, stated: “This year symposium will act as a refresher for all staff, as well as a way to stay informed with the latest trends in education. The symposium will focus on key areas that are highly integral to the notion of Bahrain Polytechnic and other applied higher education institutions. The streams of the symposium will include e-Learning, Employability, Action Research, Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning.
“This year, we have invited practitioners in higher education from several local and regional institutions to share their knowledge and expertise to the participants and give their perspective on the GCC approach to research and e-learning.
“Previously, our Teaching & Learning Symposiums were conducted in-house by drawing on our own academic staff experience. Thus this year, the symposium will be open to the public, where lecturers, researchers, curriculum developers, and aspiring tutors can register to attend any of our workshop days. This comes from our aspiration to support and help in advancing the national and regional educational sector and those who are working in the educational field.
“I would like to invite those who are interested to check the details regarding the symposium that can be found on the Polytechnic’s website.” concluded Mrs. Janahi.
