Bahrain Polytechnic and KPMG in Bahrain (the global leader in consulting and professional services) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Bahrain Polytechnic’s headquarters, aimed at strengthening cooperation in educational and academic fields, building professional capacities, and supporting joint initiatives that prepare qualified and capable professionals for future challenges.
The MOU was signed by Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, and Mr. Jamal Fakhro, Managing Partner at KPMG in Bahrain, in the presence of officials from both parties.
The cooperation under this MOU includes providing internship opportunities and industry projects for high-performing students, implementing career mentorship programs linking students with KPMG professionals, and developing students’ soft skills in leadership, problem-solving, and communication. It also includes organizing lectures, seminars, and workshops led by KPMG experts, as well as providing advisory support to align academic curricula with market needs.
The initiative further encompasses collaboration on projects in data analytics, cybersecurity, sustainability (ESG), fintech, and the integration of AI tools into curricula and laboratories, alongside organizing field visits for students.
In this context, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, commented:
