Bahrain Polytechnic announces the reopening of admissions for its Top-Up and Master’s programmes. Interested applicants can apply online through the Polytechnic’s official website during the period from 4 June to 25 June 2025, with the new intake scheduled to begin in September 2025.
The Top-Up programme at Bahrain Polytechnic is designed to offer a flexible pathway for holders of diploma and associate diploma qualifications to earn a bachelor’s degree in approximately two years. The programme offers a range of specializations, including Engineering Programmes such as Civil Engineering and Instrumentation & Control; Business Programmes such as Human Resource Management and Accounting; Information and Communications Technology Programmes such as Programming, Networking, and Information Systems; in addition to Creative Media programmes such as Visual Design. The Top-Up programme courses are scheduled during the evenings and weekends, providing working professionals with the flexibility to balance their professional and academic commitments.
Commenting on the programme, Bahrain Polytechnic CEO Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin emphasized the importance of the Top-Up programme, saying: “As part of Bahrain Polytechnic’s commitment to lifelong learning and the principle of ‘Polytechnic for All,’ the institution has taken the lead in launching this programme, which aims to meet the growing demand among diploma holders. Furthermore, the cost of the Top-Up programme is highly competitive compared to the expenses of a full four-year degree or longer.”
In addition to the Top-Up programme, Bahrain Polytechnic also offers a range of Master’s programmes. Newly introduced programmes include: Master of Science in Supply Chain Management, Master in Human Resource Management and Organizational Design, and Master of Science in Sustainability Accounting and Finance, which have been developed in response to emerging market needs.
These new offerings complement Bahrain Polytechnic’s existing Master’s programmes, which include: Masters in International Trade and Strategy, Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Master of Science in Engineering in Sustainable Energy Systems, Master of Arts in Creative Media and Design, and Master of Science in Reliability and Maintanence Management. These programmes have been carefully crafted to provide in-depth knowledge and specialized skills in key areas of study, enhancing the capabilities of bachelor’s degree holders and equipping them with the tools needed to succeed in the job market.
On the importance of these programmes, Professor Ó Catháin stated: “Since their launch in July 2023, Bahrain Polytechnic’s Master’s programmes have played a vital role in upskilling bachelor’s degree holders and preparing them for the demands of a dynamic job market.” He added that these programmes align with Bahrain Polytechnic’s strategic plan to meet labour market demands and contribute to Bahrain’s Vision 2030, which aims to develop highly skilled national talents who support the Kingdom’s economic prosperity.
