Bahrain Polytechnic held its annual Curriculum Advisory Committee meeting, which this year brought together more than 250 industry partners from various sectors. The event took place on Tuesday, 29 April 2025, at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel.

The annual meeting aims to strengthen the connection between industry and the academic community at Bahrain Polytechnic by reviewing the latest practices across industrial sectors and identifying the skills required in the labor market from the perspective of employers. This initiative is part of the Polytechnic’s ongoing efforts to enhance its curriculum across all academic programmes.

On this occasion, Bahrain Polytechnic’s Chief Executive Officer, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, praised the wide participation of attendees and industry representatives. He shared the Polytechnic’s vision for addressing the current and future needs of the labor market and emphasized the role of industry in achieving this vision. He affirmed the Polytechnic’s commitment to continuously evaluate and update its programmes to meet the evolving demands of the labor market, especially in light of developments in artificial intelligence.

He said: “We are pleased that employers play an active role in the working ecosystem of Bahrain Polytechnic. The institution has always made it a priority to engage with employers, whose insights are crucial in shaping our curricula and aligning skills with each programme. Today, we are witnessing a practical example of our commitment to their feedback. We look forward to the outcomes of these meetings in the form of exceptional graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes that they seek. At the Polytechnic, we aim to play a central role in supporting Bahrain’s economy through innovative programmes that meet the highest international standards.”

He added: “These meetings have led to the introduction of many new programmes and specializations within the Faculties of Business, Information and Communication Technology, Engineering, and Creative Design. The Polytechnic will continue to work closely with its industry partners to enhance and expand its academic offerings as we prepare our students for a promising future.”

Industry partners in attendance praised Bahrain Polytechnic students for possessing skills and competencies aligned with labor market requirements.
