Bahrain Polytechnic Students Representatives for the 2025-2026 Student Council

The Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic has approved the official formation of the Bahrain Polytechnic Student Council (BPSC) for the academic year 2025-2026, comprising of 12 elected members representing various academic programmes and disciplines. Bayan Yaser Mohamed Abdulla Mohamed Abdulla was elected President after receiving the highest number of votes in an election that witnessed strong student participation.

During a meeting to assign roles within the newly elected council, Ebrahim Saleh Qaed Mohamed Alamri was elected as Vice President, Ahmed Adnan Mohamed Rafeea A. Rahman Awadhi was elected as Secretary, and Haleema Salah Mohamed Yaqoob Kamal was elected Financial Treasurer.

The committee positions comprised of: Husain Ali Abdulla Mohamed Abdulla Albanna as Chair of the Sports Committee, with Maryam Fawaz Jasim Mohamed Jasim Almannaei as Vice Chair. The Art and Culture Committee will be chaired by Noora Fawaz Jasim Mohamed Jasim Almannaei, with Jameela Mohamed H. Sharaf as Deputy. Maryam Aref Ismaeel Radhi Ismaeel will chair the Social Committee, supported by Fawaz Mohamed Ahmed Mohsen Ali Alhayki as Vice Chair. The Student Services Committee will be chaired by Bayan Khaled Ebrahim Mohamed Alheddi, with Maryam Ali Hasan Ali Hasan serving as Vice Chair.

On this occasion, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, congratulated the newly elected members, noting that the elections reflect the students’ spirit of participation and responsibility, as well as their commitment to fostering a more inclusive and dynamic academic environment. He underscored the importance of empowering students to play an active role in shaping decisions that affect their academic and social experiences. He also expressed confidence in the council’s ability to act as a genuine representative of student voices and contribute to a culture of dialogue and collaboration. Professor Ó Catháin also extended his appreciation to the outgoing council for their efforts, which led to many successful initiatives that positively impacted the Polytechnic community.

Newly elected Student Council President Bayan Yaser Mohamed Abdulla Mohamed Abdulla described the opportunity as both an honor and a responsibility. She affirmed her commitment to represent student aspirations, and added that the council would serve as a platform for dialogue and cooperation, working closely with the administration and academic staff to enhance the student experience academically, socially, and beyond.
