On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, attended the graduation ceremony of the 11th cohort of Bahrain Polytechnic students, held today at the Bahrain National Theatre.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla affirmed that the continuous development of the education sector at all levels, under the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the guidance of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reflects the Kingdom’s firm belief that investing in education is an investment in a future built on creativity and excellence, and closely aligned with national development needs.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that building qualified national capabilities is a key pillar in enhancing productivity and improving the efficiency of the national economy by preparing a generation equipped with knowledge and innovation, capable of contributing to the Kingdom’s progress in line with the government’s priorities and the objectives of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which places Bahraini citizens at the centre of development as its main driver and ultimate goal.
He underscored the importance of technical and vocational education provided by Bahrain Polytechnic, which integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, ensuring alignment between educational outcomes and the needs of productive and service sectors. This, he said, supports the preparation of graduates equipped to integrate into the labour market and actively contribute to national development and modernisation.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla commended the Polytechnic’s continuous progress in institutional development and academic programmes, particularly noting the graduation of the second cohort of master’s degree students. He described this as a step that strengthens the framework of research and professional development while enhancing national expertise in priority specialisations that support economic growth.
He also highlighted the Polytechnic’s new approach to expanding its reach through new branches across the Kingdom’s governorates, facilitating access to its educational services, increasing student capacity, and supplying the labour market with more specialised skills.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of Bahrain Polytechnic’s Board of Trustees, the Board members, and the academic and administrative staff for their efforts in advancing the Polytechnic’s development.
He also congratulated the graduates on their achievement, wishing them continued success in serving their country, and extended appreciation to their parents for their constant support.
Following the ceremony, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla presented certificates to master’s degree graduates and outstanding undergraduate students.
For his part, Dr. Juma expressed his appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his patronage of the ceremony, and expressed thanks to the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the ceremony, reaffirming his continuous support and close follow-up of the higher education sector in the Kingdom.
The minister congratulated the graduates, their families, and Bahrain Polytechnic’s Board of Trustees, as well as the academic and administrative staff, on this significant occasion.
