Bahrain Polytechnic and Huawei Host Job Fair Featuring ICT Career Pathways

Bahrain Polytechnic, in partnership with Huawei, hosted a job fair to connect students with internships and full-time opportunities in the ICT sector and accelerate Bahrain’s digital talent pipeline. Along with the participation from Almoayyed Commercial Services, the event drew full-capacity attendance from students and faculty across the Polytechnic, with more than 150+ students engaging in on-site recruitment activities. The agenda featured an opening speech by Bahrain Polytechnic’s CEO, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, followed by a strategic overview by the Huawei Bahrain CEO Mr. Harry Yu and a briefing from Huawei Regional Recruitment Head Mr. Faisal Shabbir detailing high-impact opportunities and clear career progression pathways.

Bahrain Polytechnic has expanded its collaborations with leading technology partners to ensure students gain practical exposure, relevant certifications, and access to emerging digital career pathways. This job fair reflects the institution’s broader efforts to bridge the skills gap, empower students with real-world experience, and contribute to Bahrain’s digital transformation.

Commenting on that, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic said “Through our industry-aligned programmes and strategic partnerships, we are committed to preparing a future-ready workforce that can drive Bahrain’s digital transformation. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaborating with universities and partners, we are actively nurturing the next generation of ICT leaders who will drive the Kingdom’s digital economy”.

The latest job fair follows a robust pipeline of initiatives by Huawei in line with the company’s commitment to develop and advance the next generation of ICT talent. Over the past decade, Huawei has built more than 310 ICT Academies across 19 countries, trained over 500,000 people, while working toward cultivating one million professionals over the next ten years.

The initiative underscores the power of public–private collaboration to build a future-ready ICT ecosystem, aligning with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 which emphasizes a sustainable and competitive economy anchored in human capital development. By bridging academia and industry, the job fair creates practical routes into high-demand technology fields and supports socio-economic diversification through innovation and digital skills.
