H.E. Sh. Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa congratulated the graduates on this academic achievement which will contribute to providing more skilled Bahrainis in the labor market. He also thanked the logistics tutors for their role in contributing to developing education in the Kingdom, especially since Bahrain Polytechnic is characterized as the only institution in the region to launch a logistics programme with international standards while meeting the needs of the labor market.

The Polytechnic is proud to be a contributor to moving the Kingdom forward by providing Bahraini graduates, such as the ones awarded by CILT, one of the largest logistics institutes in the world. This puts the Polytechnic on track to meet the Bahrain 2030 Vision and government work program 2015-2018.

It is worth mentioning that since 2012, the Polytechnic graduated 300 logistics students with the diploma and international certificate from CILT.

He emphasized that when the Polytechnic students’ graduate with their Bachelor of International Logistics Management degrees, they will be equipped with the knowledge and skills they need in the field of Logistics, Transport or Supply Chain Management as they will already hold CILT International professional qualifications as well as a degree. They will be able to work in Ports and Maritime, Aviation, Road or Rail, Freight or Passenger Transport, Warehousing or Inventory Management, Supply Chain or Urban Traffic Management.

Dr. Webb also noted that the Polytechnic students have now become members of CILT International, an institute with 33,000 members globally. He also added that after leaving the Polytechnic, they can upgrade their membership after 3 years to “Member”, prior to grading their educational and practical experience.

To conclude, H.E. Sh. Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa handed 74 students with the diploma in logistics and transport, and 18 students with the CILT international certificates. He thanked the Polytechnic’s executive management, academic and administrative staff and industrial partners who have contributed to the development of the students’ skills and providing them an opportunity to train in their companies. In turn, they praised the Polytechnic for offering modern methods of teaching; based on problem-solving and practical work which will provide the students with the skills required by the labor market to make them work-ready.
