The Library Learning Centre (LLC) and Teaching & Learning Unit of Bahrain Polytechnic hosted a workshop under the theme “Unpacking Information Literacy” on Tuesday, December 8th 2015.
Dr. Nawal Zewayed, Director of Student Services, said that the aim of the workshop is to shed light to the participants on sources which contain modern information and the developments in the field of research.
The participants consisted of professors and specialists from inside and outside the Polytechnic.
The workshop began by explaining the research strategies and tools available for research, which includes access to books, DVDs, journals, newsletters and newspapers by a representative from ProQuest, Anas Obaid. The LLC team later answered questions regarding the matter.
The participants of the workshop have been invited to attend the workshop to take advantage of scientific expertise and to discuss developments in libraries. They were satisfied with the interaction during the workshop and asked for another similar workshop in the future in an aim to raise awareness and promote joint cooperation between academic institutions.
This comes under the Polytechnic’s strategic plan, being in line with the Bahrain 2030 Vision, the National Plan for Higher Education, the National plan for Scientific Research and government work program 2015-2018, to build relations between academic institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain to support the educational process for higher education institutions in the region.
To conclude, Dr. Nawal Zewayed thanked all the participants and presenters of the workshop, and wished them a year full of scientific achievements and contributions.
