Bahrain Polytechnic Hosts Zain Polytechnic Universities Basketball Tournament

Bahrain Polytechnic hosted the Zain Polytechnic Universities Basketball Tournament at the campus on May 23rd 2015, where a friendly basketball competition took place between universities in the Kingdom.

Sponsored by Zain Bahrain, four teams from various universities around Bahrain took part in the 5 – hour tournament, where each team went head-to-head until AMA University finished 1st place.

Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri, Acting CEO of the Polytechnic, said: “Our goal was to provide an outstanding experience for our participants and audience when taking part in these kinds of competitions.

“We were pleased to host this basketball tournament at our campus, and now we would need to build upon this event to ensure we provide an even better experience next time.

“Having said that, I’d like to thank Zain Bahrain for sponsoring and supporting this tournament. I’d also like to thank all the participating teams, and would like to congratulate the winners of the tournament.” concluded Dr. Al Aseeri.

”Inspiring community spirit has always been one of our core values and we have developed an integrated and strategic approach to CSR focusing on key issues such as youth, education and the environment,” said Samya Hussain, Corporate communications Manager from Zain Bahrain.

“The tournament is a pure example of how Zain Bahrain can support initiatives that inspire the community,” she added.

After each team played against each other, AMA University collected 1st place, followed by runner-ups University of Bahrain. Applied Science University and Bahrain Polytechnic finished 3rd and 4th respectively. Ahmed Jamal from ASU was nominated the most valuable player of the tournament.
