With an aim for following international best practices, Bahrain Polytechnic has officially launched its Strategic Plan 2015-2019; a plan which complies with Bahrain’s 2030 Vision and the government action plan 2015-2018.
Dr. Hasan Almulla, Deputy CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, delivered a detailed presentation of the Strategic Plan 2015-2019 at an all-staff briefing session conducted on 18th February 2015, where five goals highlighted the long-term plan; sustainability, graduate reputation, assurance of learning, engagement for impact and incubating entrepreneurship & research.
The 5 year plan took 18 months to prepare, starting off with various meetings, seminars, brainstorming workshops and evaluation sessions. Surveys and studies were conducted in collaboration with several stakeholders, including students, staff, public & private institutions, international experts and members of the Board of Trustees of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri, Acting CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, stressed the importance of the efforts kept by each stakeholder, as their contribution will not only help achieve the Polytechnic’s goals, but the Kingdom of Bahrain as well.
“During the all-staff session, we discussed the OKR’s (Objective & Key Results) which will lead us to meet the Strategic Plan 2015-2019. This will be displayed on our intranet, where our staff can access and monitor the progress of all departments. These objectives will be followed-up on an ongoing basis to ensure its validity.
“We also encourage our staff members to provide suggestions and opinions to improve this plan, as this information is available on our website.” added Dr. Al Aseeri.
