Bahrain Polytechnic’s Business and Logistics faculty invited its industrial partners to an industry forum on 19th January 2015 at the InterContinental Regency hotel, in recognition the growing industry support for its academic programmes.

Industry partners, students, and staff were also given the opportunity to recap on the Polytechnic’s ‘work-integrated-learning’ programmes, a mandatory final-semester which allows students to apply what they have learned and to solve “real world” business problems.

Acting CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, Dr. Mohamed Al-Aseeri, commented on the teaching style of the government-owned institution; developing students about life outside classrooms.

“We invite our partners to these sessions to update our progress and to inform them on opportunities to recruit our graduates.”

The event started off with a number of presentations from the Polytechnic staff, including the Dean of Business, Cormac MacMahon, who acknowledged that a big factor in Bahrain Polytechnic’s success was down to the support of industry. Afterwards, industrial partners took the stage and presented the impact of the youth in their organizations.

This was followed by students highlighting their experience at taking their very first step into the job market.

To conclude the occasion, companies were given the opportunity to discuss with several Polytechnic programme managers regarding bringing in students to undertake their industrial projects at their workplace.

“I’m delighted to see our students and industrial partners benefiting from the work placement project. Our motto is always to train our students to be work-ready.” stated Dr. Al-Aseeri.

“I would like to thank the hard-working staff, bright students, and cooperative industrial partners for their patience and dedication to continually meet the goals of Bahrain’s 2030 Vision and the governments work program 2015-2018.” he concluded.
