Bahrain Polytechnic Celebrates Bahrain Sports Day

Bahrain Polytechnic’s academic and administrative staff celebrated Bahrain Sports Day on 2nd February 2023 within its campus, in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and in response to the initiative of His Highness Sh. Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and with the follow-up of the Bahrain Olympic Committee led by His Highness Sh. Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) to allocate a day for sports activities.

The CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, stated: “It is a matter of pride that the Kingdom of Bahrain is focusing its attention on the area of sports, thanks to the support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, who is always keen on promoting the concept of sports as a culture and lifestyle. This is also thanks to the role of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, in addition to the vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).”

“The importance of Bahrain Sports Day is to boost awareness about the significance of sports in people’s lives. It also promotes physical, psychological and mental health and wellness.” Professor Ó Catháin added.

The Polytechnic CEO concluded his speech by thanking all academic and administrative staff for organizing, preparing, and participating in the Bahrain Sports Day, which included several physical activities.
