BECA and Bahrain Polytechnic tie up

Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) has been working within an exciting new partnership with Bahrain Polytechnic by hosting four of their students from the Bachelor of Business Industry Degree.

The students are working at BECA to gain experience in the working world whilst also working on their individual projects as part of their course in Marketing. They have already been assisting BECA management team in the areas of Social Media, websites, online marketing, and the customer/visitor experience – for four weeks now – and they will continue until the beginning of January 2014.

The aims of the partnership are to deliver an integrated marketing communications strategies to generate awareness of Bahrain Exhibition Center amongst vendors and the general public. Also to analyze the service experience from a customer point of view and develop a clear plan for improvement to deliver higher levels of customer satisfaction. The projects will be under the headings of Communications, and Service Marketing. The students will be working on their live projects with the direction and supervision of their lecturers and also the management team in BECA.

The Head of Business School, Alison Reynolds said: “Our goal is to produce graduates who are work ready and passionate about their chosen profession. Being able to experience complete real projects that make a difference to organizations such as BECA is essential for our students to develop their confidence and their employability skills to complement their academic skills. We are very grateful to BECA Chief Executive Officer, Hassan Jaffar Mohammed and his team who have provided this generous opportunity for our students, as their assistance will continue to meet Bahrain’s 2030 vision.”

While working on their projects the students will also gain invaluable experience of working in the Bahrain Events Industry and be able to shadow the Sales and Marketing team during their daily work – to learn about the industry and gain valuable market research information. At the end of the period they will present their recommendations to the BECA Management Team and be able to put in place an action plan to assist BECA in future marketing campaigns.
