Bahrain Polytechnic and the Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) discussed, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, the transitional plan of BTI, including the new academic, administrative and financial procedures.
The move follows the issuance of Royal Decree (46) of 2022 by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on transferring the affiliation of BTI to the Bahrain Polytechnic.
On the occasion, Education Minister and the Minister responsible for supervising and controlling the work of the Bahrain Polytechnic, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, stated that the issuance of the royal decree is within the strategy to develop education and training in the kingdom, praising the unlimited support of HM King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the education sector in Bahrain.
Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Bahrain Polytechnic, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, praised the issuance of the Royal Decree (46) of 2022, highlighting HM the King’s directives to develop vocational training and invest in human resources to cater to the needs of the labour market.
He also asserted that the education and training programmes of Bahraini human resources enjoy the ongoing support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, citing HRH’s directives to launch such programmes to achieve national goals.
CEO of the Bahrain Polytechnic, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, said that the issuance of the Royal Decree is a positive move that would increase the employment opportunities for Bahraini graduates, as it would provide flexible educational options for its students and improve their skills.
