Polytechnic Announces New Admission Timings During Ramadhan

Ahmed MalallahBahrain Polytechnic has announced that applicants wishing to apply to the Polytechnic for the academic year 2016-17 during the month of Ramadhan will need to be on campus between 9 AM – 1 PM. Additionally, the deadline for accepting applications is on Thursday, 16th June 2016 at 1 PM, and no further applications will be accepted afterwards.

Regarding the entry tests for the academic year 2016-17, Ahmed Malalla, Registry Director at Bahrain Polytechnic, stated: “The Polytechnic has taken into account the circumstances of the high school students, where their final exams occur at the same time as our entry tests.

“We have postponed our entry tests to commence as soon as the final exams of the public schools have ended, where it will be conducted during the month of Ramadhan in the morning.” said Mr. Malalla.

He also added that the Polytechnic has received nearly1500 applicants ever since the application period opened on 25th April. It is expected that the number will be higher during now until 16th June, especially when the final exams have ended for public and private schools.

The Polytechnic reminds applicants that all admission related fees will be paid by debit or credit card only, as the institution will be shifting to an electronic payment system, no cash payment will be accepted.

The process of applying to the Polytechnic this year will be done through the internet, which has been the case for the past 3 years and received positive feedback. The applicant would just need to fill the online application form through our website (https://www.polytechnic.bh), print the signature page, pay the application fee (BD 20 non-refundable) by debit or credit card at the Student Information Centre (Building 8), and submit the required documents: an original and copy of passport and smart card, one passport size photo, high school transcript, evidence of good conduct (not more than one year old), medical examination certificate from governmental health centre. If the applicant is applying to the Visual Design programme, they must provide a portfolio of their art work. The registry directorate will then verify the documents, confirm the application, and set a date for the entry tests.
