Bahrain Polytechnic Receives More Than 4519 Applications

Bahrain Polytechnic’s Director of Admission and Registration, Mr. Ahmed Malalla, stated that the number of applicants for admission for the next academic year 2023-2024 has reached more than 4519 applications since the start of application period on 26 April, 2023. More applications are expected during the application period that ends on 18 June, 2023.

Mr. Malalla commented that the large number of applications is an indication of the solid reputation the Polytechnic has as the best choice for students not only at the local level, but also at the regional and international level. He added that its academic programs are in line with the requirements of the local and international labor market, which are developed after consultation with industry partners. This is in addition to the high-quality teaching methods that would develop students’ skills and qualify them to join the labor market upon their graduation.

As for the method of applying for the Polytechnic, Mr. Malalla explained that the process of submitting applications will be completely online through its website (www.polytechnic.bh). Applicants will need to pay the application fee (BD 20 non-refundable) and select their entry test date upon completing their payment. Applicants must also submit a copy of their smart card or passport (valid) and their secondary/high school certificates available to them at the time of the application. Afterwards, the admissions department staff will verify the required documents and approve the application. An email of confirmation will then be sent to the applicant to confirm that their application has been submitted.

Mr. Malalla directed all students wishing to join the Polytechnic for the next academic year to submit their applications online, adding that deadline for submitting applications will be 18th June, 2023, and that no applications will be accepted after this date. He also indicated the need to prepare for the entry tests in Mathematics and English, as the selection of applicants to the Polytechnic will be competitive. He added that sample test questions can be found on the Polytechnic’s website, and that admission is based on the students’ fulfillment to all admission requirements and to the number of seats vacant in each programme.

It is noteworthy that Bahrain Polytechnic has recently offered several academic programs following the study of the needs of the labor market and after consultations with its industry partners. The new offered programs are Bachelor of Science in Financial Technology, Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, in addition to a variety of diploma programs in Social Media Marketing, Interactive Design, Web Development, Cloud Computing, Logistics and Transport, and Islamic Finance. It also offers a variety of new Engineering diploma programs in the field of electromechanical, communications and networks, mechanical, electrical, chemical and process engineering, civil, and automotive technology.

The Polytechnic offers the following programmes: Bachelor of Business, which includes the following majors: marketing, accounting, banking and finance, human resources management. It offers the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology, which includes the following majors: database systems, management information systems, networking, programming, and cyber security. It offers the Bachelor of Engineering Technology, which includes the following majors: electrical, electronics, mechanical, electromechanical, communications & networks, and the newly added civil and chemical. It offers the Bachelor of International Logistics Management, the Bachelor of Visual Design, and the Bachelor of Web Media. It also offers the Bachelor of Film and Animation, Bachelor of Digital Marketing, and Diploma in Engineering Technology (Petroleum Refining and Operations).
