In conjunction with the campaign which aims to raise awareness in regards to the importance of events management as a work opportunity for Bahraini youth, students of the School of Business at Bahrain Polytechnic launched an awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness to the students regarding the field of organization and managing events; a field that has been showing a growing interest in the Gulf region.
The students led the awareness campaign in collaboration with the Royal Golf Club and within their event management and festivals course project. The workshop aimed at introducing the students to all aspects related to organizing and managing events, which included a tour inside the club and provided a comprehensive view from one of the managers on how the events are managed in the club.
This campaign comes to prepare for the launch of a new academic program that specializes in organizing and managing events within the academic programs offered at Bahrain Polytechnic, which comes in accordance to the vision of Bahrain Polytechnic of providing unique programs to meet the needs of the labor market in the Kingdom and the region.
On this occasion, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic, Dr. Mohammed Ebrahim Al Aseeri said: “Bahrain Polytechnic strives to achieve its vision and mission, and the launch of new academic program comes after the implementation of surveys and extensive studies and a series of agreements with stakeholders, which returns in benefiting the applied higher education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, fills the gap in the labor market and creates jobs which contribute to the enhancement of the Kingdom’s economy. The Board of Trustees of Bahrain Polytechnic, headed by Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa has praised the introduction of this program, which represents a new step towards reaching the 2030 Vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which we all seek to achieve.”
Dr. Al Aseeri expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Royal Golf Club on their fruitful collaboration and great support for the success of this awareness campaign.
It should be noted that the Event Management program is in its final preparatory stages and will be ready to be launched in the near future. This program has been designed by a specialist researcher, Dr. Charalampos Giousmpasoglou of the School of Business at Bahrain Polytechnic, in collaboration with a group of experts in the relevant field, within and outside the Kingdom.
